Help: Senior Year, AP Chem or CP Physics

Hi CC,

Right now I’m a junior in High School taking CP Chemistry. I’ve REALLY enjoyed Chem this year. I’ve been thinking about majoring in education for a long time but after this year im strongly considering majoring in Chemistry/Earth Science Eduction.

Although I am thinking about majoring in a major Chemistry related, would it actually benefit me to take AP Chem next year rather than CP Physics? I’ve never taken Physics before.

I’m just not sure if the rigor of AP Chem would be better for me to prepare for college chemistry classes or if taking Physics would be more beneficial overall, as physics and chemistry can be connected in aspects, if you will.

Any opinion is appreciated. Thanks!

Colleges like to see that you’ve taken the Three Hard Sciences(bio, chem, and physics) so if you’re applying to selective colleges you should take physics at least one in high school.
I think the best solution would be to take AP Chemistry AND CP Physics so you have all three sciences and advanced chemistry which you are interested in.

Thanks for the help!

Agreed. If you can do both, it would be ideal for you.
