Hi, so when I sent my SAT II score reports to USC, I accidentally sent my SAT too, which was a 1340!!! I did not report this score on my application, since I got a 35 on my ACT. Am I screwed because I sent the low SAT and my ACT? I’m freaking out. I’m worried the 1340 will dull my higher ACT score.
No, you are not screwed. They will focus on your great ACT score.
Agree with above, some students test better on one or the other, or just had a bad test day, they get that. Your 35 ACT will shine, particuarly if your overall academic record is more in line with that as well. Congrats, that’s an outstanding score.
Is there a reason there is such a disparity between your two scores? I wouldn’t have thought the test itself would be that different. Can you retake the SAT to narrow the gap as I would think with a 35 you should be closer to a 1500 SAT.
You don’t need to worry. They will look at the high ACT. If you like, email the admissions office and ask them to disregard the lower SAT score. You do not need to retake.
Call Rick Singer.
Oh, wait…

Just kidding.
IDK, I’m just better at the ACT! The science and grammar sections were really easy, and I scored 36 on both and 35 on the reading. SAT is more math, which I’m not as good at. I applied for the merit scholarship, and I’m not sure my scores will reach USC in time for consideration.
What should I say in the email? I don’t want to call attention to the low score or annoy admissions.
Its unlikely you can avoid calling it to their attention since you are asking them to deal with it, but say something like “My SAT score was inadvertently forwarded to you in error with my SAT II scores . Please kindly delete the SAT score from my application file.”
Thanks!!
Should I email my admissions counselor or the office of admission?
your counselor
To find your specific USC admission counselor…
I already used the askUSC thing, is that okay or should I email counselor too
@otto12345 not sure if you want to bring attention to your application file. SAT report is one file and if the report is linked to your app, wouldn’t it be hard to just remove partially unless you want the entire SAT report removed? I haven’t heard anyone successfully removed official reports from their app after submission. My daughter sent ACT and SAT subjects, but the portal shows one item “SAT/ACT Score Report”
@mavian Yes I agree, I emailed the admissions office on askusc and they said nothing can be removed from the file. I’m really stupid, I should not have sent the SAT or emailed them in the first place lol. I hope this won’t hurt my chances, I’m just pissed because I worked hard to get a 35 ACT.
