Will a low ACT hurt my chances at USC despite a good SAT score?

So my USC application all ready to go, but I have been a little worried about my testing scores. Both my SAT and ACT were sent to USC before I got to see what score I got.

My ACT score is:
Composite - 27
English - 26
Math - 31
Reading - 23
Science - 26

My New SAT score is:
reading/writing - 660
Math - 770
Total: 1430

Will USC care that I got a 27 on the ACT or will they only consider the significantly better 1430?

Do they require all scores from all tests taken? If so, then it seems they care. But they probably care more about the higher SAT.

Thank you so much for responding! On their website, it does not seem to say whether or not they want all test scores sent.

However, they did mention that they superscore the SAT. I think this implies that they just look at the highest score, but I’m still not sure…

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Super scoring means they take the highest individual sections from several SAT sittings.

Oh ok. Well that won’t affect me because my best SAT was in a single sitting. But I still don’t know if the USC will count my lower ACT against me…

You only need to submit your SAT or ACT but you send both? I would think that most schools would use the highest score received regardless.

Yes. Unfortunately, I had to choose the colleges that I wanted to receive the score way before I received it. So by the time I saw my poor score it was too late to unsend. I guess you’re right in that it’s to assume they look at the best score regardless and see what happens. Thank you for responding!

I really don’t think it will hurt you. They are going to consider the highest score. Superscoring aside, if you sent in two test scores they are going to take/look at the highest one. A lot of kids do better on one over the other, they know that. I wouldn’t lose any sleep on this at all.

DONT SEND YOUR ACT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - INSTANT REJECTION

^ just kidding, you should be fine, as I like to say: study hard, study often.
