Thank God those worthless "ghetto" kids were brought to justice. Hopefully those "poor scum" will rot in prison one day while you enjoy a high-paying job that you earned through your top-notch social skills.

YEAGHGH!!!! WOOTAGE!!! You got dem ghetto kids. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY LEts get drunk.

MetdethGNR congrats!!! Lol I know it sounds wierd, but still...

Yes JUSTICE!!!

Keep us informed about what they do to the proctor (if you ever find out). That person ought to be out of work.

Why should someone taking the AP test have to worry about someone copying off of their sheet? Why don't they separate people so you can concentrate on the test??

Is anyone else thinking that she's lying about the cheaters admitting (c'mon...) and full of crap? Or is it just me once again...

wow RickJ did anyone tell u that they actually have a percentage off ppl they pass and distribute 5, 4, 3,,...to?????

ye
and cheating is wrong and it is unfair to the person who actually studioed and took the time to work the problems out during the test and deserved t

u must be a cheater urself!!!

Well, I am not sure what happened to the proctor.

But what happened was this:

My parents and I talked to the assisstant principal. He realized the gravity of the situation. He called a WHOLE meeting including the school's principal, the AP Coordinator, every AP Teacher in the school, every administrator, and some other people.

They then tracked down the kids who copied and simply explained them the gravity of the situation. Both confessed.

=)

I realize I did sound like an arrogant brat when I called them "ghetto kids" but I was really angry. I want to clarify I am very poor myself and attend a very poor "ghetto" school. This is one of the reasons as to why the AP-passing rate in my school is sooo low (less than 2%).

So my parents, making a big effort, buy me all these prep books. I spend my months reading them- Monday through Sunday. I attend AP Practice sessions around the county. As I am pretty poor, I don't have a car, and there were several saturdays where I had to rely on buses + walking to get to those study sessions. In Sunny long-distanced Florida.

And these kids (who copied from me) are probably in my same financial situation. Only these are the kids who never did anything all year, who knew they were going to get a 1, and who did not go through any trouble to pass the test. These are the kids who come with their pants hanging down by their thighs. Who wear "gangster" shirt. Who smirk when someone is polite.

I apologize if I offended anybody, but please understand I made that comment in a moment of rage.

Thanks. =)

(RickJ: what is with your spelling? I can hardly read what you write...)

Sorry I can't type.

I'm w/ Rick J- I wouldn't let someone cheat (I do my best to cover my sheet and stuff, but not to the point of paranoia), but ultimately it doesn't matter how well someone else does. Another person's success (be it earned or not) does not diminish my own. So many people have this pathetic notion that they are only truly successful if they are better than everyone around them. Metdeth, all you had to do was go to your AP coordinator, after that it's out of your hands, even emailing AND calling the OTI was probably more than you had to do. Persuing the issue farther would be petty.

Sorry, lol, missed some posts there! At least the situation is resolved w/out you having to do anything more.

How'd you get them to confess?

i agree with what a lot of people said.

really, even though they shouldn't cheat, they weren't getting a good score anyway, and it does nothing for them. just be happy it went well for yourself. reporting the cheating put your score in jepordy and could have thrown your 5 out the window. the obnoxious comment was, well, obnoxious. i think it was way over the line. are you a guy? because i can't imagine one guy in the world who would care THIS much about it.

I've proctored AP exams and yes, there is a minimum amount of space between seats that is required. That said, I am always amazed to see kids who have their answer sheets splayed out across the table so I can read the MC answer pattern 10 feet away. The other folks who get me are the ones who leave their answer sheets open when they are excused to leave for the restroom. (I make them close the form or put the form in their test booklet.)

Pay attention to exam security, folks. Don't want to be copied from (or be accused of complicity in cheating)? Keep your answer sheet discreet.

Of course it's not a guy. It's not in our nature act that ridiculously.

yeah that sucks. i understand that it sucks to work hard to get a 5 while someone else just copies them off. you've contacted your ap coordinator and Office of Testing Integrity. theres nothing else you can do. just move on and try to forget about it

i just reread the entire thread. congrats dude!

^I think she's female.

I think it's awesome that you actually inconvenienced yourself to try to prevent further cheating. Most people would've done nothing.
