I am applying as a transfer for sophomore standing to UChicago and I recently re-took the ACTs in hopes of improving my score. I didn't improve at all. To my knowledge, UChicago does not superscore the ACT.

Yes, I know that I have a low chance of getting in, and, yes, I know that my college GPA is more significant than my ACT scores, but I just want to make a strategic decision to improve my chances of acceptance.

Why not send both? They're both high, and though they might not be officially superscored, if they are broken down by section, one can see that you're a very strong student in all areas.

Here's the official statement from the admissions office on transfer students and test scores. You probably already have this but I hope it helps (going just on my personal opinion I would say send both). You should probably e-mail your admissions counselor, that's what they're there for and they're always happy to help!

Test scores - Have official SAT Reasoning or ACT scores sent to the University of Chicago. (Chicago's SAT code is 1832; the ACT code is 1152.) All testing must be completed prior to the application deadline; test results are valid for a period of five years. SAT Subject Test scores are not required, but you are welcome to add them to your file. If you choose to submit ACT scores, we do not require the optional essay component. This is required for all transfer applicants, no matter the age of the applicant.

unalove - Thanks for your advice! I'm just afraid that they'll look at the abysmal fall in my science score and label me as "fluke" or "inconsistent." But I think I'll end up sending both.

buster - Yep, I saw that on the site, thanks for posting it though.
