Help w/ housing PLEASE!!

I am waiting to hear if I've been accepted (fingers crossed!!) and am freaking out about housing. So here's the deal... My family had been to Florida (not the college, but lower in the state) and didn't like it at all. So when I chose to apply to UFL, they thought I was crazy and completely convinced me that I would hate it and not to go. So I didn't fill out housing. BIG MISTAKE! I visited it a few weeks ago and LOVED it! While I was there, I paid my $25 for housing, and they said I would be on the waiting list, but sounded like there would be a very little chance of getting it. Am I as screwed as I think I am? And if I am, what other options are there for housing?

Also, I am hoping to get my NROTC scholarship switched to UFL, and if that works out, would that have any help in me getting housing?

Thanks SOOO much for any info!

Mostly like if you get a room it will be a temporary or permanent triple or possible a non-ac (its not that bad). However, I have seen people cancel last minute and were able to get a room in one of the more popular dorms like Murphree, do see what happens and then go from there.

No. If you parents were big donors or top administrators at UF (dean, board of directors, etc) then that holds some weight.

Ok thanks so much! I thought that there would be absolutely no way I would even get into a dorm, but at this point I would take a 3 person no ac room and be happy! (well, probably until I got there and died of heat stroke haha). And I figured that the rotc wouldn't matter much, but some places they have to live in certain dorms so I thought I'd ask.

The non-ac dorms now allow you to buy a portable AC, if you want to.

Only till Nov and then again in April. However, summer is impossible, even though I know people who did it (pre-portable AC).

Here is last years statistics on good priority date.
