So my list currently stands:
Cornell U (Hotel)
UPenn (Wharton)
NYU (Stern)
Rice U
Emory U (eventually business)
Oregon State
U of Oregon

My GC asked me to consider adding another safety/match school.
She suggested University of Denver.
My mom suggested UNLV (for hotel mgmt)

I am still not sure if I want to add another school. I have always wanted to venture to a new place outside of Oregon, but I don't know if I would attend DU/UNLV over Oregon State/U of O. What do you think?

UNLV has an outstanding hotel management program that is considered one of the best in the world. I would be a bit concerned with the budget cuts in the UN system, but it doesn’t hurt to apply. You would qualify for WUE tuition.

You could check out other WUE schools as possible safeties.

What I think is that you’ve been around long enough to know the info you need to include in a thread such as this. So get with it. You also might want to share what really excites and interests you - because, as it stands - your list is all over the map other then having selected some very competitive schools and some very competitive programs within some of those schools. Otherwise, how can we help?

If you want to do hotel management add Michigan State, Purdue, Penn State, Delaware and Cal Poly Pomona. They all are well respected hotel management schools. UNLV is a well respected school too but the classes are like high school classes, pretty easy. The only reason why they are so well known is due to their location to Las Vegas, tons of internship and job opportunities. With the opening of City Center, it adds more job openings for graduates in that area, specifically from UNLV.
