Help! What are my chances for Northwestern, GTown, UCB, UChicago, and Ivies?

Hi, I’m a rising senior in a very competitive school in TX. My intended major is economics with a possible double/minor in music. It would be great if you could chance me for NW, GT, UCB, UChicago, and Ivies like Brown and Darty.

Me: Korean male, no significant financial hardship, both parents attended college

Stats:
GPA: 4.0 Weighted: 5.66/6.0
Class Rank: 20’s/600
SAT: 1590 Subject test: 800 math and ushistory, taking chem later
APs: AP USHistory (5), Ap Stat (5), AP W Geo(5), AP Calc BC (5), AP Lang (5), AP Spanish lang (5), AP Euro (5), AP Macro (5), AP Micro (5), AP environment sci and ap lit senior yr
IB predicted score: 40+

EC’s

  • Music: All State orchestra 3yrs (1st chair once), won local music competitions, state UIL gold, teach music to young kids for free in outreach, youth orchestra 6yrs
    -DECA: VP, internats 2/3 yrs
-FBLA: Pres, state 1st, nats qual
-varsity policy debate: some nats tournaments
-martial arts: taekwondo state champ, nats experience, team cap
    -national econ challenge state 4th
-chem club treasurer + chem olympiad
-volunteer to teach korean on the weekends 100+ hrs
    -basic honor societies
-summer research at UT and MSU

I started off strong in freshman yr but I now find myself lacking motivation and see a slow decline in my academic performance. It’s always been a dream to end up at an ivy, but I know believe that there are other schools that are perfect schools for me.

This is what I think the breakdown is for me, but HEY I COULD VERY WELL BE INCORRECT.

Dreaming of:
Yale
Brown
duke
ivies

Reach:
NW
GTown
UChicago
UCB

Safety:
UT austin

thank you all, please leave your thoughts in the comments

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are great. Write good essays and you could get accepted to any of these schools

With a 1590/1600 SAT & an unweighted 4.00 GPA, accomplished in music & martial arts, you should be competitive at all of your targeted schools. Much will depend upon your recommendations & your application essays.

I feel like your evaluations of your standing at the schools you listed are pretty valid. However, I think UChicago might be more of a dream than a reach. Nothing to do with your application (which is one of the better ones I’ve seen), but just by the fact that it is a very competitive university on par with the Ivies. I’d list Brown as a reach school, I would feel fairly confident about your competitiveness application-wise there. All in all, you have the application to be competitive in many of the schools you listed, including Ivies; your DECA and FBLA stats, along with music, show a dedication to a few activities while excelling, which is something the Ivies and top-tier schools look for. However, you are an ORM (same) which could lead to you being compared to the thousands of amazing Asian students across the nation, which could hurt. Applications to Ivies are usually very unpredictable, but your stats line up with the typical academic and EC background of many of their accepted students, but also what some students who get rejected do. I’d be confident that you’d be in consideration for acceptance, but not a shoo-in. GL!

Thank you all for the advice!

Any suggestions on how to choose my ea’s or ed?

Northwestern prefers ED & has a music school & is very well regarded for economics.
