I really need to study (a bunch of memorizing) for my last exam(s) tomorrow, but I can't stay awake! Every time I blink I nod off for a second. It's horrible. Give me some ideas to get me to stay awake, read the info and actually know what I'm reading please?

I always fall asleep in my classes in the afternoon. The way I stop it is to get one of those squishy foam balls and just squeeze it over and over. It actually works.

Well, I can't really get one of those right now. And plus it still wouldn't help with the whole concentration thing. But thanks :)

Go for a quick run or something. That usually wakes me up. Or a cold shower. Really though, nothing will last for an extended period of time.

Determine what your grade is in the classes right now.

How hard should you study to maintain your A/B/whatever? (earlier bedtime = less time spent trying to stay awake)

Try these, idk if they'll work
Blast music (techno or heavy metal at high volumes)
Hop around the room
Do jumping jacks
Slap yourself in the face
when all else fails.........

Scream.

Like frogger mentioned, exercise is a great energy booster. Also try caffeinated drinks prior to studying. Obviously this one is going to be a no-brainer, but try to get enough sleep each night so you'll have enough energy the next day. Power naps are great but only if they're short (don't exceed 30 minutes).

Thanks everyone. I somehow managed to do some more studying. I tried the dancing & music thing and it always wakes me up but the moment I sit down and start reading it all goes away. Wish me luck tomorrow! :)

when you get really tired, do 15 to 20 push ups. works like a charm.... at least for me it does.

Don't know what the heck you guys are talking about.

After I hit the weights I need a nap lol.

Tried to do a power nap today...long story short I ended up sleeping until
the next day :(

About exercise, I'm dead tired after exercise.

I recommend some tea or coffee, if you don't like either of those, then maybe an energy drink or caffeine capsule

The best advice I can give you is to never get into this situation in the first place. If you have nothing to do on a certain day, don't stay up just for the heck of it—use those days to make catch up on sleep, and you will be more energized on days when you do need to stay up late.

Sleep now, wake up at 3 am, and do your studying then.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above posters. First of all, do not get in this situation. But if you are, then go for a quick jog, no more than 20 minutes. You don't want to do anything TOO vigorous, but just enough to get your heart pumping. I always feel invigorated after jogging or ERGing.
