former Photography editor of Yearbook
Historian of National Honors Society
member of Social Studies Honors Society
attended two semesters of UMDNJ's Premedical Program
shadowed a doctor at Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard University
nine years of commitment to one swimming team

around 50-70 hours of community service (I plan to get 100+)

I live in New Jersey so my current plan is to attend Rutgers University and apply for entrance into their Pharmacy or Business Program, but aside from that I am not sure which other colleges I should be applying to. I do not think I have a chance at an Ivy League and even if I did get in I definitely could not afford it.

Does anyone have any advice as to which colleges I should be applying to, my chances of getting in, and the amount of financial aid at each college (ex: chances of me getting a scholarship, etc)? I was also wondering what the procedures are for asking a college about financial aid.

Oh yeah, I was thinking of majoring in either something biology or management related, which is why I was thinking of going to either the Rutgers Pharmacy or Business Program. I'd also like to know which Ivy League you think I have a chance at getting into, if I did decide to apply.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks! (=

You should definitley map out some saftey/match schools within the state (since they tend to be the most affordable). You should also research some other schools that fit your requirements. I know CC has a matchfinder you could try. When it comes to Ivies, I can’t tell you much about where you should apply, except that Cornell is the least selective of them (and even it is very selective). Also, keep in mind, that Ivies and a lot of top-tier private schools do give a great deal of need-based aid. In Harvard, and Princeton and Yale (I think), families with income under 60,000 get aid to cover everything - that’s almost like a full ride.
