Help! What residence hall for McCormick Student?

Hi Guys,

I have never been to Evanston or the US, the only way I can check things is through google maps! But that sucks, So anyone please..please guide me through in choosing the perfect residence hall. I am a grad student, and I want a single bedroom/Studio. It would be great if the hall is:
1. near the McCormick School of Engineering
2. a new hall (comparing with others)

By the way, Is there any gym in the campus? Plus, as the University is lying along the lake, Is there any residence hall which is right by the lake?

Aren’t you a graduate student? Grad students do not live in the on campus residence halls. And there are three gyms on campus, SPAC, Blomquist, and Patten. Google search.

Go to the NU website. NU has an online interactive map and also a printable map. They label about every 4th building, which is not as helpful as it could be, but perhaps this will help you.
No matter where you will live, as you go around the campus you will see the lake, which IS a very nice thing, and a great view of downtown Chicago!

@arbiter213, what do you mean by ‘grad students do not live on campus’? Is it because there’s no grad resident hall on campus? if that is the case, then it really sucks!!!
Cos I really want to live on campus! Thumbs for the gym though!

@late…thanks, will check!

Yes- there are no graduate dorms on campus. There are a couple near campus. Have they not sent you information about housing options?

They haven’t sent me anything so far, I just have that electronic letter on the tracking system which states that I have been offered a place. But I am also pursuing my undergraduate at the moment, will be graduating in July. What do you reckon? Should I speak to them regarding the residence or wait until they send me something.

Although, it says on the application that accepted students receive admission packet. But I don’t know how long that takes.

You should probably wait for more information from the school. I think the McManus Living Learning Center is a graduate student housing option that the university runs, but I don’t know about the specifics of getting located there.
There are many apartment buildings that are relatively affordable and close by, though, so don’t worry about not being able to live on the school.
