Help..which classes to take senior year..

HI,
My son is currently a junior. His GPA so far is 3.75 uw and 4.0w. He has taken all honor classes. This year he is taking AP English, AP US Hist and Govt, Honors Math, Honors Chemistry, Honors Spanish, and Computer Programming.
I would like to see him take: AP Macro and Micro Economics , AP Calculus, AP English, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish, AP Computers.
He would like to drop AP English and AP Macro and Micro Economics and just just take regular english and Social Studies and take the rest of the courses above.
I am concerned this will not look good when applying to colleges that he did not take the max course load offered. But, I also don't want to burn out my kid at all. How bad would it look if he drops two AP courses.
Right now we have visited mostly reach schools in Boston College, Villanova heading down to UVA, University of Richmond, and Wake Forest. IF I can find him a school he really likes a tier below the ones that are top on his list then I would not be so concerned. Any thoughts?
THanks in advance..

AP English is the more important of the two. He should take that one, and you can negotiate on AP Econ.

Take AP English and maybe go for Calc AB instead of BC (if he isn’t already taking AB). That’s what I’m doing next year even though I’m good at math; I just don’t want to be too overwhelmed my senior year.

I would also recommend taking AP English, but truthfully, I would just let him take whatever he wants. He seems to be doing very well and he should also remember not to overload on AP’s. I know a lot of people at my high school who made that mistake and they told me that it ruined their whole senior year. I would recommend that he challenges himself with as many AP’s as he can handle, enough so that his GPA and academic record doesn’t suffer because of it.
