HELP!Which/what types of schools prefer litcourses senior year over creative writing?

Which/what types of schools prefer literature courses senior year over creative writing?

I'm a senior who just finished applications. I've applied to engineering, biology, and neuroscience majors. This semester, I was put into creative writing to finish my four years of english requirement.

However, I heard from someone that some colleges prefer literature classes over creative writing. I asked my school counselor and he told me "I have always believed, and told my students, that Senior English, English Lit are the safest Senior English classes. Some colleges like to see Lit classes over Senior English Electives. The only way to tell for certain would be to check with your college. "

I'm wondering if its worth to switch out of creative writing. I'd hate for this to affect my chances. I'm applying to several schools like Columbia, Penn, Rice, Northwestern, Duke, Brown, and Dartmouth. Does anyone know if these schools actually care about creative vs. lit?

I'm not majoring in english or anything and I actually kinda like the class. It's a week and a half into the semester and if I switched into another class I would probably have to notify all those colleges I applied to.

Please help me! I probably have to change my schedule soon if im switching out!

Unless the Lit class is an AP/honors vs. a regular Creative Writing course, then I don’t think the type of English course matters.

No types of colleges
