I was accepted EA (College Search - Find colleges and universities by major, location, type, more.) in December with a 3.3 W. My high school is known to be very challenging compared to most other public schools in the country (a straight A student from another town came here and started failing out), and does not unweight grades or give class rankings. I got 1200/1600 on the SAT. I believe I had very good recommendations and wrote an impressive essay, and have diverse EC's to boot.
However, I had only taken ONE Honors course and NO AP courses when I was accepted into this school. Honors Spanish junior year. Advanced Spanish sophomore year.
I only need English 4 (and Wellness 12) to graduate this year; the other courses are technically not required to graduate (I already fulfilled those requirements).
Senior Year semester one (from 3.3 to 2.8... gulp the hardest year for me ever):
AP Psych A: B
AP Span A: C+
English 4: C-
Physics A: C+
Pre-Calculus A: D
Sel Choir 1A: B+
Wellness 12: A

Contact the college. We cannot help you here. They will know how to weigh the scores from your school.

Oxford College IS emory, you know that right? It’s a very hard college too; some say it’s harder than Emory College. So I don’t know why you want to go there if you can’t even handle the course schedule you have right now.

Anyway, follow Erin’s Dad. They may or may not rescind your acceptance, you don’t know. They do full-year report for senior year, too, so do well second semester.

I am writing them a letter. My guidance counselor has helped me and I have faith for now… I obsessed over the college admissions process way too much last semester; I did a lot better before that and I am sure I can do well again now that my focus has returned. I am off to a good start so far, but my main question is: Can they revoke my acceptance mid-year if they don’t want to wait around for my final year transcript?

If Oxford College of Emory University accepted the OP, then he/she is perfectly capable of performing at the college level there.

My advice:
Concentrate on your school work this remaining semester and bring your grades up. You should be okay. With all of your efforts, I’m sure they more than likely won’t rescind your acceptance.
