I got accepted regular decision into Oxford Emory this year. I sent in my final transcript, but its not looking so good. I ended up failing two classes, AP Stat and AP Calc. I'll probably get my acceptance revoked, right? I already have 4 years of math credit, calc and stat was extra.

hope u get in, good luck!

yeah probably… why did you fail those classes?

It’s called “Emory at Oxford” not “Oxford Emory.” Oxford is a part of Emory University. Most people who look at Oxford really, really misunderstand the purpose of its existence. Which is why when you ask most people why Oxford’s website calls itself “hidden gem” people give you eye-rolling answers.

I won’t be going there, but did some research on it to kill off my ignorance. Not even gonna waste my time defending that place 'cause most people won’t listen and just straight-up call it a “backdoor into Emory.” It’s not a backdoor, but the problem is that a lot of people use it as a backdoor. There’s a big difference there.

Hope they won’t rescind you. What you can do now is to write a letter to them to explain why you failed those classes. Do not offer excuses or blame on the teacher.

When did you send in your final transcript for oxford? I’m applying this year and I don’t know when do they want us to send in the transcript. Please help.

Ask Oxford’s admissions officer for suggestions. You might drop down to regular Stat and Calc for your final semester, if that is an option. YOu might see if there is a community college that would offer one or both courses, and take them next semester there. Or the adcom might say… no worries, failing AP happens all the time, especially Calc – in which case they might honor your admission but under Academic Probation.

This is a thread from last May. The poster only posted twice, and the second post was about being recinded. He seemed a bit surprised.
