Within the last month my daughter applied to Pitt. When she received her portal link the application link was listed as incomplete - missing SAT/ACT scores notwithstanding the fact that scores were sent a couple of days before her application was submitted.
In the last few days the reason for the incomplete status was removed but the portal still says her application is incomplete (currently no reason is provided). Hoping someone from admissions can advise as to next steps.
Hello!
If there are no action items in the portal, you should be fine. For a few people, the portal has been glitching and saying that a status is “incomplete” when no items are in fact missing. If the missing scores have been removed from the portal and you know that we have the application, application fee, and transcript or self reported academic record, you should be good to go.
If anything really is missing (though it sounds to me like that is not the case), we will be sure to contact you via email/mail to inform you.
Hope that helps clarify!

@hailtopitt1787 - Thank you for the reply. As it happens her status was updated to complete today and she is very relieved. She found out about Pitt late in the process but has been so impressed that it is now her top choice.
@ProudDad1357, That is wonderful to hear. Glad that she applied and best of luck to her!
If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact me here or reach out to our office: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

@hailtopitt1787 - By when should my daughter expect to hear back?
@ProudDad1357, I would guess that she will hear back in the next week or so. Our Admissions Committee works hard to turn everything around as quickly as possible while also giving each applicant a thorough review.
I am sorry I can’t get any more specific, but I thank you for your patience!

@hailtopitt1787 - Thanks for the quick reply to my question. I will let you know when she hears back…in case you couldn’t tell Pitt is Dads first choice too

@hailtopitt1787 - My D received a letter yesterday indicating that she was (1) accepted to the Honors College and (2) was being considered for Merit awards. She and I are thrilled!. Any indication as to when we might hear back on merit? Also, should we be concerned that she didn’t receive the email notification of admittance?
@ProudDad1357, Anyone who is selected to receive a scholarship at Pitt should hear from us by March 1. And yes, if she received a letter offering her admissions she should have received an email as well. Please check to be sure that you are checking the same email you provided on the application and that the email did not go to spam. If you still can’t find it, feel free to contact our office and let us know that you have not yet received the email. We can update your account and make sure you will get important communications from us: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

My D applied in November to the Business School and still has not heard anything from Pitt. She was asked to turn her Mid-Term grades in and has already done that. How long does it usually take to get accepted or not accepted?
It typically can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks. When did your daughter submit her mid-term grades, @mom2daughters? If it has been more than 6 weeks, feel free to call our office. One of our processors can look at your daughter’s account and give you more details about the status of the application: 412-624-7488.

@hailtopitt1787 - February 17, 2016. She applied in November, Application complete on Jan 4. Received letter Feb. 11 for mid term grades. Couldn’t get them to Pitt until they were back in school Feb. 17. It is just so frustrating. This is the last school she is waiting on. Applied to all of the school of her choices at the same time and received back on the other two fairly quick. Thanks for your help.
@mom2daughters, I am sorry that it has been a frustrating process for your daughter. But it shouldn’t be too much longer. Thank you for your patience.
