help with applying to Michigan

Hi guys!!
I'm feeling really abashed cause i know nuances but not the main info about admission

anyone knows, how one should apply to Uni of Michigan: directly to colleges or to university in general? (I'm an international freshman)
Should I send application by post or online it's ok?

Thx a lot!!!

apply via the commonapp.org .
you apply to the university not the specific college.
You should send the basic application, the common app form and U-M supplement online.
Your transcripts, high school rec, teacher rec etc can go by post or by e - mail. I prefer by post as it gives you more control of the app as u don’t have to trust any teachers.
Go to U Mich’s site, they have EVERYTHING well explained.
Best of Luck

Thanks, chelsearox! After your advice i’ve gone to the site and found the following:

“For assistance in choosing which School or College is best for you, see the Office of Undergraduate Admissions website at [University of Michigan - Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu). Students must apply to a School or College and may only apply for a dual unit in the following programs:[…]”

It impossible to understand anything! The same is with Purdue: i’ve heard that seniors should apply university, but at the end of application form, I remarked the following in a very small font:

“You must select a college/school and area of study on your application, which will be evaluated based on admission requirements and space availability in that area of study.” and the list of majors

You apply to the university, but you will be asked to choose a college within the university as part of the application process. Will you study engineering? If so, check the box for School of Engineering. Not sure what major yet? Check the box for LS&A. In other words, figure out which college within the university best meets your educational goals, and that will be the college you check when asked to choose a college while completing your UM app.
