Hey, for biology class I have to write a page about what I think is the greatest scientific discovery and support it with evidence.....penny for your thoughts..I have no ideas lol... thanx.

Greatest scientific discovery....hm...

I'll probably post some more tomorrow but here's some thoughts;

Discovery of electricity
Discovery of DNA
Heliocentric model and/or Earth is not flat
Discovery of penicillin/insulin/antibiotics/other important drug
Discovery of bacteria/viruses
Discovery of the atom/atomic power

I think the greatest scientific moment in history is when some guy (or gal!) looked around and said, "I wonder why...."

Think about it, though. It's the moment when someone decided it'd be cool to know something, do something, unrelated to survival. It's when learning for the sake of learning began.

Granted, this person's explanation as to "why" probably featured a six-headed monster and promiscuous goddess or whatnot, but still. Someone wondered.

That just floats my boat. ;-)

geez the greatest scientific discovery was when it was discovered I was born. Sheesh! Didn't you learn anything in school? ;)

Celebrian--your post count is 6,666. Now, what does that tell us about you. Hmm? Hmm? ;-)

Thanx you guys for posting, but I already handed in my paper. I decided on the discovery of 3 laws of motions by Sir Isaac Newton. Celebrian, lol yes i have learned something in school, but I;m not very decisive or imaginative in my decision making...
