Has anyone submitted their portfolio on a CD? I'm thinking of doing this instead of slides because the quality might be better. What format do I burn the CD? and is it likely that a college will have problems viewing it?

CD submission is much easier, especially if you have any version of photoshop to crop or adjust the contrast if necessary. Most schools want them saved as Jpeg files and of a certain size. They must be label as well, name, size medium, date completed. Just check each schools requirement because sending.

I submit my portfolio to Pratt on a CD! :)

Andddd I agree with above.

thanks, are there any basics for how to label and such because I couldn't find any instructions on the college's website

Labeling involves a printed sheet with title, medium, and approx time when produced.
List each on a sheet space between slide.
label the CD with your name, number of slides

Then the next day and one day before you mail it OFF. Put the list in front of you and then put the cd in a computer and run the slide show and see if all matches up.

Good Luck

thank you!! thats going to help a lot! :)
