So I got into my second choice major of Political Science in Revelle. After reading things on here I’m honestly scared because it sounds very difficult. I am planning on going to graduate school so is it worth all the work that people are claiming it is? I just need someone to tell me it’s not as bad as people say haha.
The HUM sequence is challenging, but it’s also kinda worth it. The best professors I’ve taken at UCSD (Lee and Lyon) were my HUM 1 and 3 professors. It’s the same curriculum designed 50 years ago in terms of its emphasis on classical humanist theory. I feel like it made me a better reader and thinker, more so than making me a better writer. It’s hard as hell and time-consuming, but if you work hard, and go to office hours when you struggle, it won’t tank your GPA.
Revelle’s a great place to live. Everyone enjoys the community and the La Jolla vibe there.
