<p>I’m a current freshman at Revelle College, and I guess there are both bad and good sides to it just like any other colleges.</p>
<p>Academic: GE.GE.GE. ok, it’s hard and long. But, if you are a science major most of the GE’s cover the major requirements as well so it’s not THAT bad. With some help from AP credits, I’m already over with all GE’s except for HUM (consider the fact i’ve been here only for a year). There are 5 HUM’s for Revelle and it’s a bit like AP literature from high school. It is pretty hard because your grade basically depends on your TA’s. So if you get sucky TA? you are dead. Just be careful with that. If you know your TA’s the bad one, just drop it unless you wanna suffer thru it. Other than HUM series, GE’s not that bad. </p>
<p>Location: I actually like Revelle’s location. It’s kind of at the corner of the school but it is really close to the cliffs and the beach. So if you like beach, you will love it. Also, you have CLICS which is only like a min walk from your dorm and York Hall is really close to the dorm as well (Most of science classes are held in York, so it’s really convenient). It also has a main gym nearby. Overall, pretty good.</p>
<p>Food: … OKAY. Honestly, plaza food? SUCKS. This is the only thing I HATE about Revelle. Plaza’s breakfast is actually pretty good, and there ARE some good food once in a while. (ex. panini) I’m really picky with my food maybe that’s why i don’t like it so much, but if you are ok with any kind of food… i guess you will be fine. But if you are picky, Roger’s will be your best friend. Roger’s is the marketplace right next to plaza and actually it’s the best marketplace out of all colleges. But, you don’t get REAL food here, it’s more of microwavable food and bakery stuff. So you do get sick of it… I would give about 3 out of 5 stars for food.</p>
<p>Social life: Ok, this one really depends on YOU. If you are a person who’s introverted and just like to stay inside your own room the whole time, you are probably not going to get a lot of social life. But, if you are a person that likes to go out and search for things to do, you will have lots of fun. I’m the latter side and honestly, I had so much fun this year. So, this one. UP TO YOU! </p>
<p>Dorm: There are 6 fleets (Meteor, Galathea, Discovery, Beagle, Atlantis, and Challenger) and Argo and Blake Hall. Argo and Blake are like whatever but 6 fleets are all newly renovated/in the process of renovation so it will be nice by the time you get here! :]</p>
