I play flute and I'm in high school. I'm a junior this year. I really want to go into music and have a double major of Music Performance and Music Education. I really like Michigan State University. Could you suggest other good schools that have a good music program? and please no just arts school i need a College education too.

flutegirl2010, welcome. In the absence of time, I want to direct you to a recent thread here. There's a series of links therein pointing you to some of the major Music Ed threads on this forum (there are more, which you can page through or use search to find).

I also suggest BassDad's thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=258796 as general music background and the excellent Peabody article here Peabody Institute - Conservatory Admissions: The Double Degree Dilemma which puts some perspective on a dual major/double degree. (Sometimess I feel like a broken record, for those old enough to remember vinyl ;))

Fleshing out a bit more of your music and academic background would be helpful in suggesting some potential schools. Your size, location, cost preferences are also a major part in including or ruling out potential programs.

I apologize. The thread with the additional music ed links is here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/626010-music-education-major-clarinet.html?highlight=clarinet
