As I was advised by some amazing users just in time to delete my essay, I would like to pm it to anyone willing to help thanks a million!
My situation in a nutshell: I’ve been through a lot throughout high school. I had an extremely unsupportive father that went out of his way to keep me from pursuing my passions for education. Even though this was my situation, I still tried my hardest in school and took as much of a demanding workload as I could, because my enthusiasm for learning was there, like always. My father was also addicted to cocaine, that combined with us having little money, was a plan for disaster. To support my family, I had to work 50+ hours a week in mostly hard labor jobs from 9th-12th grade. So now that I’m ready to move on after a forced gap year, I’m applying to some universities. My GPA is average at a 3.6 this was because I had little time to do anything because of work I mostly went to school just to take tests so I don’t fail, though attendance almost got me to not graduate. If it wasn’t for my teacher’s protests I wouldn’t have. Though with little time I still took 12 AP classes junior and senior year and managed 5’s and 4’s on most. At the time of my ACT I was homeless and studying was the lest of my worries I scored a 28. I took the November SAT and if practice tests are of any merit I’m expecting at least a 1400. I’m a very ambitious person and I know my stats put me at a extreme disadvantage for top schools, but doesn’t hurt to try and I have a couple of safetys.
