Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I don't see it anywhere. I can confirm that my forms have been completed, and in the case of the css, I can see that it's been sent to USC. However, on my son's USC Connect document management tab, they still have it as required but not received. Should I just call USC? I've been trying today, but I can't get through.
TIA

In my experience, the CSS/Profile shows up on USConnect within about 1 - 3 business days, and the FAFSA within about 3 - 5 business days.

You should have received your SAR from FAFSA within a day or two of submitting - did you get that? If you received the SAR and USC (#001328) is listed, you can feel confident your FAFSA has been submitted to USC and there is no need to call.

The Profile: Double-check that you received an acknowledgement with the Status: “Application Submitted,” that your credit card was charged, and that USC (#4852) is listed. If all of that looks good, you can feel confident it has been sent to USC and there is no need to call.

If there are issues with any of the above, you need to fix them on the FAFSA or College Board sites, not USC, so sign back in and make the necessary changes or complete your applications.

The date you submitted is the official date, so even if they don’t show up right away, you will have met the returning student March 2nd deadline. (The new applicant deadline was February 2nd.)

California applicants: For Cal Grant: Go to <a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home; to verify that your FAFSA was received by the CSAC.

your son may have the same problem as me. i submitted my fafsa/css a month ago, but they were reported as “required”. i e-mailed them and they replied, "It appears we do not have your social security on file which is probably why your FAFSA/CSS are not matching to your file. Please contact our office at the number below at your earliest convenience so we may add to your file.

Sincerely,

yep it took awhile for me to get through as well. i called yesterday afternoon. the line was busy and i finally got in after 10 calls. then the wait/hold was about 35 minutes. i just gave the rep my ssn and the document status was changed within a day (not immediately but in several hours). i didn’t mind the long wait since at least i know i can get some money! :D

whatever the problem is–if you submitted such forms weeks ago, CALL NOW!!!

Thanks Jello - I submitted these forms a month ago, so I had better keep calling. When I check on the CSS website, the acknowledgment says it was complete. I thought that I did everything correct at the time - oh well.

One quick conversation (after a long time on hold) to the financial aid office resolved this. My son’s SSN was not on his profile, and that’s the link between the forms and his profile.

Great info, Jello and VHFather - THANKS!
