Hi so im currently going through the process of whether or not ill be able to attend cu boulder this coming fall. When I go through the list it says subsidized loan, unsubsidized loan, work study, pell grant, plus loan, and grant aid. Im not really sure what this means and Im trying to go make a decision by this weekend. Also, I tried applying for plus loans but it directed me back to cu boulder. Any help or ideas?

Dont take the Plus loans - they have high interest. This is no deal. Take the work study. You get to work on campus and ear up to the amount they are offering. This money goes directly to pay for college expenses and you dont pay income tax on it. The subsidized and unsubsidized are “Stafford” loans. They have lower interest and are the debt of the student. I would take those. Grants are “free money” that dont have to be paid back.

alright. Since the plus loan is the one that covers the majority of the expenses what should i do with the remaining costs? Should I pick a different loaning company?

Also, does this mean that I Cu boulder took care of the loan or do I still have to apply for the loans?

sorry I have to bump this but I am having trouble. Do i accept the loans like the plus and subsidized loan from Colorado directly or do I still have to apply for the loans?

If I were you I would try contacting the university to try and get some of your questions cleared up. They’ve been pretty helpful whenever I’ve contacted them. Best of luck!
