Help with Junior Year Schedule...

Hello.

My original schedule I had planned is as follows:

First Semester:
AP Calculus AB (Part 1)
AP Chemistry (Part 1)
Yearbook
Spanish 3 Honors
AP Psychology

Second Semester:
AP Calculus AB (Part 2)
AP Chemistry (Part 2)
Yearbook
AP English Literature

However, I have heard that AP Psychology is a joke and was considering enrolling in AP Biology instead, which is a 2 semester course. How difficult would it be to take this courseload and AP Biology? My only concern is taking 2 AP sciences as once: AP Chemistry and AP Biology. Does anyone have any input? Thanks

bump..........

Do both and if you dont like it change.

What happened to the second semester of spanish, and your first semester of english?? Aren't these both full year classes?

Spanish 3 is a one semester course and I don't like foreign language. So, I'd rather not take Spanish 4. Also, I think my school is trying to change AP Lit where you have to take Honors English 4 as a prerequisite. If that happens, I will be dropping down to just Honors English - I cannot stand 2 semesters of English.

AP Psych is a joke class at our school, which is precisely why I picked it! You can still get credit for it at most colleges. I just don't have to do any work, and will just cram a few weeks before the AP exam. AP Bio is the better class, but I have a lot going on outside of school, so I didn't want to risk the bad grade in there.

I would do the two semesters of English though. AP Lit will get you out of freshman composition usually with a 4 or a 5.

AP Psych and AP Bio are both jokes at my school but I still did slammin' on the Bio test. Perhaps you could include a history class?

So, would colleges disapprove of not having a Social Studies course all four years? I am planning on doing Pharmacy; so, I just thought the more the sciences, the better.

The only reason I thought about taking Psychology is because I thought I needed Social Studies all four years.

Also, if they do change AP Lit so that you have to take Hon Eng 3 as a prerequisite, will they disapprove of dropping down to Honors English? Would that be something to jeopardize admissions - for not taking the most rigorous courseload possible?

Regarding dropping AP Lit: It depends on your school. If you go to an uber competitive school where many students apply to amazing colleges, it might hurt you. What colleges look for in your course list is whether you took the hardest course load compared to your peers.

As for Social Sciences: I would recommend taking Psych or a history class unless you are REALLY set on sciences. I could be wrong, but a balanced schedule looks pretty good and will keep you sane. When you're sick of cellular respiration and kinetic molecular theory, it might be nice to have another humanity in the mix.

Plus, doesn't your school's diploma require some sort of social science? We have to take at least 3 years in order to graduate.
