help with math problems?

These are the only two I got wrong and I need help with them. Thanks!
1- In the triangle AC=6 and BC=3. Point P lies on line segment AB between A and B such that CP is perpendicular to AB. Which of the following is the length of line segment of CP.
a) 2
b) 4
c) 5
d) 7
e)8
2- The interior dimensions of a rectangular fish tank are 4 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 2 feet high. The water level in the tank is 1 foot high. All of the water in the tank is poured into an empty second tank. If the interior dimensions of the second tank are 3 feet long, 2 feet wide, and 4 feet high, what is the height of the water in the second tank?
a) .5 ft
b) 1 ft
c) 1.5 ft
d) 2 ft
e) 4 ft
I got B, but the answer is D....
Any help appreciated

bump…

1: Draw the figure. After drawing in the perpendicular line, you can see that BC is the hypotenuse of triangle BCP. Therefore, the answer must be less than 3, so it must be 2.

2: The height of containers don’t matter, but the height of water does.

Volume of water in the first tank is 431 = 12 cu.ft. worth of water (this does not change)
Volume of water in the second tank is 32x = 12 cu.ft.

Solve for x, you get 2.

thanks again 4khaos!
