So, as of right now I am only a Junior in the IB Program in High School, and I was curious what will help when I get to Med School? I already do Community Service, and have a weighted 4.3 GPA, but is that enough? I am also planning to take HL Chemistry, Psychology, and English. Will anything else help when I get to Med School, or does none of this matter since I am only in High School?

This. Although it never hurts to experience classwork, volunteering, etc. related to medicine to see if it’s really what you expected and want to do in life.

Take a look at some of the sticky threads at the top of this forum to get an idea of how the premed process works once you get into college.

Are you a US student? It sounds like you may be from a different educational system, in which one goes directly from high school to medical school.

In the US, high school students apply to an undergraduate college, which they attend for 3-4 years (4 being standard). While in college, they take the necessary prerequisites for medical school and apply to medical school during their senior year of college. (Yes, many take off a year, but I’m talking about the straightest route.) Their college records determine their admissions to medical school; what they did in high school doesn’t count.

The exception, however, is for those few schools that offer joint BA/MD programs, in which you apply to a program that accepts you for both undergraduate and medical school right out of high school. These, such as Brown’s PLME or University of Rochester’s REMS, take very few students and are highly competitive.
