Help with my SAT prep routine

I'm a HS sophomore. I've bought the Barron's SAT prep book (the one that comes with the CDs.) I also bought this book named "Hot Words for the SAT" which has a good amount of lessons with SAT vocabulary along with practice questions at the end of each lesson.

This is my usual routine:
1. Study a full lesson from Hot Words for the SAT
2. Complete and check answers for practice questions at the end of each lesson.
3. Move on to the Barron's SAT prep book where I work on however many practice questions I can for whatever section I am currently on. I try to take it easy and not force myself. At this point, I'm just focused on learning from my mistakes, gaining any knowledge I can from these questions and sections, and getting to know the useful tactics for these questions. I spend however much time needed on question explanations which I don't understand.

(I write down ANY vocabulary words from the practice questions in Barron's that I don't know and I look them up and jot down the definitions. I usually review these words for about 10 minutes before I begin studying from the Barron's book.)

My goal is to score ATLEAST a 2000 on the SAT. Do you guys think my routine is fine? Should I start timing myself once I feel more comfortable? At this pace, do you think I'll be ready and well prepared for the SAT in senior year? Please give any suggestions you feel are good for me.

Thanks guys

Get the Official SAT Study Guide and the Grammatix Guide

That should get you to 2100 if you work SMARTLY ,
I personally hate Barron’s because it is like practicing super fake SAT exams (their problems are not even close to the SAT)

i got like a 1650 on barrons exam and a 190(0) on my PSAT ---- on my official practice exams i get like from 1850- 2050 — In my opinion barrons is a waste of time but for you it might be good for getting used to the test

But make sure u no that barrons will not get you over 2000 only the official guide will
You can do the Barrons math but ignore the reading passages because they do not follow collegeboard standards

^ yep. make sure u wanna read xiggi’s method as well.
also, practice with CB questions. no princeton review, no barrons,no kaplan!
u wont run out of tests in a while, cuz there’s like 25 tests out there~ gluck!

I actually have the Official SAT study guide from collegeboard. I got it from one of my cousins. What I do is that I use both of the books. If I’m on the critical reading section in my Barron’s book, once I finish the critical reading section, I go to the critical reading section in the Official SAT study guide. I’ve basically begun using both books.

sat2400tutor, can u link me to the Grammatix Guide please? I can’t find it. What do you mean those books will get me to 2100 if i work SMARTLY?

Asides from that, what do you think about my routine?

Thanks

When he says smartly, he means that after you do a practice section, you go back, review every question, not just the ones you got wrong. Know why the answer is the answer and not a different answer.
