Okay, so I want to include my personal experience visiting the NYU campus. A man a part of the Transfer Admissions Committee told a little story about how his name came to be. He said it was a combination of two names: Kevin and something else. I'm thinking the second name is Fernando, but I can't exactly remember. The guy's name is Kervin.

Also, what should I include in my transfer essay? I am having serious writer's block.
I really want to wow them with my essay, because I love NYU! But, I don't want to bore them.

Hey there bellatheball! I’m also in your exact same position. I am trying to transfer from Indiana University to NYU for this fall. What are your guidelines for your personal statement? I am applying to get into the School of Continuing and Professional Studies to work on a B.S. in Real Estate and mine consists of basically two things: what I have learned from my past experiences and why am I applying to study at NYU.

I’m on my 3rd draft and have learned a couple things along the way:

Stay focused on the topic at hand. The admissions officer can read thousands of personal statements and do not want to read irrelevant information. Basically, don’t write a lengthy PS unless it all relates well.

Make it unique. Give information to your admissions officer that really says something about you. Avoid generalizing.

AVOID CLICH
