Help with schedule

I posted this in the College Admissions forum, but I was mainly regarding American, since I’ll probably apply ED in the fall. Here’s that post:

Okay, so we got our schedules for next year when I’ll be a senior, and I’m reconsidering something. Currently, I’m scheduled for a general level Physics class. This year I took our general level Chemistry, and I’m thinking about changing to AP Chem. My questions: 1) Would I be better off (meaning come college time) with both general Chem and Physics, or with Chem and AP Chem? 2) What would be the thoughts of admission comms when they saw either of these two options? Thanks everyone

what are u thinking of majoring in? if your thinking poli sci... then it doesn't really matter.. your thinking pre-med and then it matters...

for science i took regular (in NY its called regents level): earth sci --> bio --> chem ---> physics

something so small really doesn't matter. My best advise, take what you believe you will do better at. If you like chem and you think you'll do well at AP chem, go for the AP. If you get a 4 or a 5 then u don't have to take a science class if you decide to come to AU (AU has a gen ed program to which EVERYONE, {unless you took the AP equivalent} has to complete.)

so if I were to get a 4 or 5 on AP Chem, I would get the credit for 2 science classes I would have to take?

And on a side note, what would a 4 or 5 in AP US get me out of, if anybody knows.

yes i do. For the AP chem i believe that a 4 or a 5 gets you out of area 5... the physical science. (which now I have to take bio in the fall becuase i never took an AP science, yet my best friend it taking it w/ me because she only got a 3 on the AP) I believe a 4 or a 5 counts of 6 credits of classes. *

With a 4 or a 5 on the AP US i believe gets you out of area 3... which is like a history/ goven't gen ed. I got a 4 on AP euro and i got out of that gen ed. I believe a 4 or a 5 counts for 6 credits of classes.*

You'll have to look online on AUs website for more info on this though... srry i don't have all the answers lol

*btw in college 3 credits usually counts for one college level class.
