I'm a current Pepperdine sophomore and I really don't like it here and I'm going to transfer. The schools I'm aiming for are UCLA, Berkeley, and Claremont McKenna in that order but I'm curious about two other schools, the University of San Diego and Santa Clara University. Are these two schools similar to Pepperdine in terms of academic rigor, quality of life, social life, and prestige? Would it be better to just stick it out at Pepperdine rather than transfer to USD? thanks

Hard to anser the question since we don't know why you don't like it their. E.g., it's too small, people are not nice. Depending on the answer different schools you named may be more or less of an improvement. UCLA & Berkeley would solve a too small issue, but might be less friendly because of size.

sorry i wasn't descriptive enough. I don't really care about the size of the schools because I'll be in upper division courses mostly so the classes sizes shouldn't be too big at any of the schools, even berkeley I would imagine. I'd like a school with a friendly student body, obviously, very diverse socioeconomically, racially, and even politically why not. I'd like a school with small grade inflation in my majors, classics and economics, but with a overall good professors. The temperature and city doesn't matter really, both the bay area and San Diego area are really nice so that doesn't matter. Lastly I guess just an all around good student body, pretty laid back, and a solid economics and classics department.

I'm no rocket scientist, but it sounds like you just described Berkeley to me

Hey, it seems we are in the same situation however I am a freshman, I just like to know if you transferred and where you went? Also was is better where you went and how was the transition in terms of making new friends, fitting in etc.
Thanks.
