I think you have good chances RD.

Your ec's are fine. I just don't think your quantitative stats are good enough.

Hm, well at this point, I don't think there's anything I can do to improve number-wise.

"Hm, well at this point, I don't think there's anything I can do to improve number-wise."

I have an odd feeling that username321 was being sarcastic, but I guess we'll never know.

haha geez, i don't even wanna know what you're taking senior year. I always look at these super-apps and I think "oh that's not that bad" and then I realize they didn't even take senior-year classes yet.

Your app is about as good as it will get now stat and ec wise, but who knows if you'll get in.

michaelj do you go to Wharton?

EVERYONE is a reach at Wharton. No sure things at any of the Ivies (unless your family donates a million bucks or so).

True, and quite frankly, the only business related thing I've done is FBLA.

i just got in. i got in seas first, with a LOT less APs and similar SATs, and definitely nowhere near as ECs... but seas isn't as competitive as wharton.

On that note, you should apply M&T if you're interested. you definitely seem to show interest

Hah, from what I understand, M&T is even more competitive than Wharton.

yes it is, but your stats are good enough to think about it. Besides, if you don't get into m&t all that happens is that you get put into the wharton pool, so no harm done

Thanks, I'll consider applying there.

Trolllllllll

Wow, you seriously believe I'm a troll? That's quite sad.

Naw, I'm just kidding! But I don't think you need to worry that much about your stats. You won't be getting any criticism - that's not a compliment. It's a fact.
You need to worry about essays/teacher recs. I'd say that's about it.

But I think what would really help you is by going back to the Penn forum and checking out all the "what are my chances" from California applicants. I remember a lot of asians applying from Cali. It's getting more and more competitive. But you can see who got in and who didn't.
It sucks for me though because I live half an hour from U.Penn and it's crazy hard to get into if you live in Pennsylvania.

wow, venus.ajar, thanks for the help! Yeah, I can understand it must be hard living close to Penn. If it's your first choice, you should apply ED.

Nah, I thought about that. I'm asian too. Chinese actually. My parents dreamed about me going to Wharton. And the perks about living nearby is that you get to visit and talk to faculty all the time. Well, I realized after visiting a few times that I just can't see myself there. The environment is CUT THROAT. And honestly, I know I'm going to get cursed at for saying this. But everybody at Penn HATES Whartonites. Some of them are okay, but others are incredibly pretentious and competitive. The Penn grade curve is infamous, so everybody has to compete against each other just to pass. But the perks about being a Whartonite are the amazing dorms. Basically all the old Wharton alum donate tons of money, so Whartonites have the best dorms, which are cut off from all other Penn students. There's literally an elevator to go up to Wharton dorms, which is forbidden by other students.. funny eh? I can see why everyone hates them.
Nah, Georgetown is for me.

um, there's no special wharton dorms - only huntsman program freshmen have a special area of kings court just for them, and i don't think any of them would call kc that nice...

all other whartonites are in the same housing boat as the students of the other three schools.

also, some college and engineering kids are pretentious, too (don't really hear about pretentious nurses, kinda goes against their intended careers)

the only wharton perks have to do with huntsman hall access (group study rooms and computer labs) and those aren't that great enough to justify tremendous jealousy and/or loathing.

and if you're wondering, i'm not in wharton (though i am a penn student).
