Do college admission officers know what Pokemon is? Do I have to define/explain it?
How many of you don't know what Pokemon is?
Please help! Thanks :)

Go on the safe side and assume that they have no idea what they are. Dont spend a ton of time explaining them, but you should let them know what they are. Unless the officers are young, or have young children, they probably dont know what pokemon are.

When you right in your unique voice, is Pokeman what comes out? Really?

I am sure they know Pokemon, if for no other reason than they read essays about it last year.

It is not the topic that matters–it is what you do with it.

You might want to insert a sentence or two about what Pokemon are, just in case.

What’s the essay prompt…it would help us to know how you are using this?
Context helps to see if this makes sense.

Anyone under 30 would know.
Anyone over 30 will know if they have had children in their home in the past 10 years.
Over 60-- perhaps not.

Pokemon is a great topic - what are you going to write about exactly?

However, I agree with mom2012and14 - on the safe side anyone under 30 would no, over 30 wouldn’t.

@gildo - My main focus isn’t on Pokemon; I just need to mention it because I grew up in Toyonaka, Japan where Pokemon was a big thing. I’m actually writing about a special ocarina that I invented (and the invention idea came from Pokemon)

@mom2012and14 - I don’t need help on the prompt itself haha. Thanks anyway (:

@everyone else - thanks a lot haha
