Help yall

hey guys. I am applying as a psychobio major to UCLA, currently at SMC.
I am considering dropping my Calculus 2 class and planning to take it in the Spring 2013.
This will make me a part time students (9 units). If I don't have a job or anything,
will part time status negatively impact my application?

BTW: I have never been part time and have been taking summer and winter sessions since I started college.

The only downside is that taking Calculus 2 in the Spring will cause me to not finish the Physics series Ive already started on (Physics 8 and 9). I have finished Physics 8 but not 9 yet. However these are recommended courses for the major.

Basically, is it worth it to drop my Calc class, take it in the Spring, and not finish the recommended Physics in order to save myself from hurting my GPA?

Im taking OChem 1 and Genetics along with the Calc course right now

PLEASE ANY RESPONSE WILL BE APPRECIATED !!!!!!! THANKS!!

What grade do you think you’re going to get Calculus? And what is your overall UC GPA as of right now?

B possibly? It could affect my chances of getting A’s in my other two subjects also though.

My UC GPA as of right now is 3.62

The first two college courses (first 6 units) I took in Summer 2008 as HS student, and averaged a 2.0

Since Summer 2011 to Summer 2012 (39 units) , I have averaged a 3.87.

I will have TAP btw

Well, it’s up to you. If you’re going to get a B in that class and As in the others I would definitely stick with it, particularly with TAP. Having those extra physics classes done will really help your chances. But if you think you’re gonna get straight Bs because of this class for some reason, then you might wanna drop it.

does part time look bad if i dont have a job?

No, it doesn’t. Are you sure you that you won’t get As in those other classes because of this one though?

Who’s your calc 2 teacher @ smc?

I think the only UC that stresses being a full time student is UC Davis. There might be others but I am not sure.
