So.. I've posted this before but my questions were never answered.
I dropped Physics and Math (Calc 2) this semester and received 2 W's. I had a big change in my life and could not handle those two classes. I ended up taking Personal growth 120 which puts me at 61 units. My GPA will certainly remain above a 3.50 and I fulfill all the admissions requirements. I mailed UCSD twice and called twice about what happened and they told me they could not tell me until after they receive all transcripts.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Thoughts?

What’s your major and does it require that you complete those classes for admission?

My major is Biochemistry/Chemistry and it doesn’t require it. Its “recommended”

Were the two courses involved in your IGETC or major requirements? Is the personal growth course taken in the spring semester?

not IGETC but its on my assist.org plan… and yes the P.G. is being taken this spring…

You should be fine. But be sure to contact UCSD asap thru phone again, explain to them the personal issues you had in the spring term.

Thanks! I plan on taking classes there during the summer to make up for those W’s

Ya, you should be ok. I’d call UCSD again though and try to speak to someone who deals specifically with schedule changes if possible. They really should give you an answer before you send transcripts.

thanks guys! I think I’m gonna try 1 more call… their so mean sometimes!

I dropped Calculus 2 as well and they told me that it should be fine, as long as it doesn’t void your provisional contract. Make sure you update it in the Academic update form on UCSD’s page.

thanks! calc 2 is a ***** -_____- along with o chem and physics! i definitely over did it.
