What kind of financial aid can I get with a 630 in critical reading and a 570 in math at Hofstra university? How much could i possibly get? Thanks for any answers :)

Are you asking about need-based aid? If so, then that will depend on your family income/assets. Hofstra does not meet need and doesn’t appear to be generous with need-based aid.

If you’re asking about merit scholarships, then look on their website to see if they offer any…and look if they give any idea as to what stats are needed.

Middle Quartiles Hofstra
SAT Critical Reading: 530 - 620
SAT Math: 540 - 630

You have a 1200 M+CR SAT. That’s in the middle quartiles.
That may not be high enough for much or any merit.

Are you going to retest?

How much money do you need?

Yes I apply for need base aid. Im going to have about 20k per year out of my families pocket. My mother is in the military so she will be passing on her GI bill to me, which will cover one full year of tuition. I believe Hofstra is around 50k per year. So Im going to need about 35k per year. I plan on taking my act in September and my sat in october. I received a 28 on a full act practice test, and plan on increasing my math by at least 50 points.
How am I positioned for acceptance at least with my current sat stats?

I mean 30 k lol.

Yes I apply for need base aid.

then that will depend on your parents’ income/assets.

But, again, Hofstra doesn’t meet need. So, be sure to also apply to some schools that are affordable.

Does your mom’s GI Bill cover one year of tuition at a private school as well? Do you know?

Yes it covers covers a certain amount of tuition, housing and books I believe. I’m going to contact their yellow ribbons office Monday.
