Help?

so I'm currently a freshman at college and I have been told by many people that hypothetically this will be the last summer I can actually enjoy and do whatever I want before I have to start internship/career furthering summer activities. I would rather take summer classes later on and I want to do something like volunteer or go to an academic camp or something that would look good for grad school/internships. I really want to either volunteer somewhere abroad or just anywhere thats away from my small town. Is there anything like this available for me? And that's not too expensive because I looked at the Washington Internship but I don't really feel like paying $10.000 for that. My major is health science and I think I'm going to specialize in pediatrics and do research with autism. Hopefully that is. Thank you in advance.

If you want to do research in autism you may want to find a summer camp for autistic kids and either volunteer or apply for a job there.
