i really want to go to The university of California Davis but my credentials aren't to hot and i'm out of state. Heres what i got to work with
GPA:3.0
SAT:1690
ACT:22 but i'm retaking it
Extracurriculars: Varsity Softball, Marching Band, Concert Band, Ignite, choir and i have volunteer hours
AP: I've taken 6 so far, ill be taking 7 this year
and i've been interning for a judge if that matters, and i've taken a summer class
so what are my chances?
I'm also applying for The University of Texas Austin, and San Antonio. The University of california Los Angeles, and San Diego

The biggest problem is that a lot of cali schools base a lot of there admissions almost entirely on gpa and with a 3.0 its going to be pretty hard, did you take any AP classes or something that makes your gpa look better?

OOS Students applying to the UC’s require a GPA of 3.4, so a 3.0 would not qualify you to apply. If you calculate your UC GPA using the following link and you have a weighted 3.4 GPA than you do qualify.

For OOS students, only 10-11th AP classes can be used for the extra honors points. Not to be a downer, even if you qualify with a 3.4, it may get you into UC Riverside or UC Merced. All the other UC’s mentioned (UCD/UCSD/UCLA) have an average GPA of 4.0+ and ACT of at least 28+.

Also are you willing to pay about $63K/year with little to no financial aid since you are OOS??

Wait. Are you a rising junior or a rising senior?
If you’re a rising junior, I recommend that you start reviewing the material for your classes; it seems as if your GPA isn’t so hot because you aren’t finding enough time to squeeze in for academics, with you huge load of ECs. YOu should also start reviewing for your standardized tests. I would try in state schools and possibly moving onto a UC after 2 years to save some money. Those UCs aren’t too generous when it comes to OOS applicants. And your credentials could definitely be improved upon in college.

@WorkHardAllDay yes ive taken 6 throughout my first 3 years, and im going to take 7 my senior year

@PolyglotGal im a rising senior, thats what i thought, i should stay in-state one year then go.
@Gumbymom so is that 3.4 on their website weighted or unwieghted because my gpa is unweighted and im sure it would surpass 3.4 if weighted

UC GPA for OOS is 3.4 Weighted using their calculation at the link I provided. There is a cap on the # of AP’s (4) used in the calculation for Sophomore and Junior years only.

oh ok thanks so much for your help @Gumbymom
