Help!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two weeks to decide where i want to go and I have not the slightest clue as to where to go... I intended on going to Boston U but I didn't recieve enough FA. I was hoping to get some input aboutsome of the schools I was accepted to, and as to what everyone thought would be the best choice. BTW, I want to do pre-med and major in neuroscience or biology(if neuro isnt offered).
1. BU but i would owe $160,000
2. American U $29,000/yr Scholarship
3. Northeastern- $10,000/yr Scholarship
4. U Pitt- I didn't recieve my FA packet yet but if i went here i would get in-state tuition.. so least amount of debt about 50k for 4yrs without FA
5. U Vermont- 14,000/4yr Scholarship (Applied because it as a safety school and free app.. don't really know too much about the school)

Any advice would be great!!! Thanks!!

Try to go and visit the schools you get into. I see that this'll be a bit difficult, considering you have two weeks and about five states to hit.... If you don't visit, at least email them. Talk to not only the advisors and financial aid councellors, but also professors in your major and students, either ones you know who go to those schools or ones that represent that school and/or your major.

I can't tell you about the money situation, but let me just say this: I opted for a school that gave me a free ride but didn't have exactly what I wanted. I got a better, more rounded, and more interesting education at THAT school than I would've gotten at my #1. College is really what you make of it...if you want to do something, you have to push to get it done. You can decide to try out the cheaper schools and see what you get (you may be delightfully surprised!), or chance it with a more expensive school and pay off the education debt for the rest of your life.

You may also want to consider a not-so-hot (and by that I mean not-so-expensive) school for your undergrad, work your tukus off and get a high GPA and a lot of good references, and shoot a bit higher (read: more expensive and pristigious) for your Masters and Doctorate.

Id go to Pitt or Northeastern depending upon which school you like better.

BU isnt worth the extra $$ compared to these schools.

I looked at all the schools except uvm (which im going to this weekend). I wasn't really too excited about any of them so thats why I was asking.. thanks for your help!

I would strongly urge you to revisit University of Pittsburgh. It is a very strong school, it's located in a city with lots of things to do and it has a neuroscience major. From a financial standpoint, it seems as if Pittsburgh would be one of your lowest cost options as well. Good luck!

DEFINITELY U. Pittsburgh; try to see if you qualify for their guaranteed medical school program as well. My dad teaches in the Neuroscience department; it's fairly solid (and existent).

Do you qualify for the Honors College? You should try to look for more FA if you do, they're quite generous.

I probably wont revist since it is a far drive, last time i went i flew there. It wasn't my first choice but I suppose I wouldn't mind going there. Financially it would definately be better since if i do continue with med-school thats about another 150k in debt. I looked into the guaranteed med school program and unfortunately i do not qualify. As for the FA I talked to the FA counselors on a visit there and i should be recieveing my updated packet soon. Thanks all for your help.
