I submitted my common app for NYU under early decision II, i meant to do regular. Is there any way to change it or am i screwed?
So you and your parents signed the ED agreement but didn’t mean it? I’d suggest you call them first thing when admissions opens after the break to change it, maybe send an email in the meanwhile.
No they havent signed it yet
So i should email NYU?
Email them in the interim and follow up with a phone call when the office reopens.
Thanks for the advice, will my application count even though my counselor and parent have not filled out the ED forms?
If you submitted ED and want RD you need to tell them. Otherwise it may just sit as an incomplete application in the ED pile. Remember they look at ED and RD applications separately. They won’t conclude that you meant RD just because a necessary document didn’t get submitted.
Ok I just emailed them. Do you think they will still consider my application even if the ED forms are not in before the deadline?
It sounds like you intended to apply ED but missed the deadline. If the ED forms aren’t in then it’s an incomplete application. I don’t think colleges consider incomplete applications. If you want to be considered ED you’ll have to ask them if they’ll accept materials after the deadline. If they won’t you’ll have to ask them to move your application to the RD round.
Post #1 and post #7 seem to contradict each other.
Yes, you can withdraw your ED supplemental agreement at any time before an admissions decision is rendered.
OP hasn’t submitted an ED agreement. He missed the deadline. His parents and GC still need to sign it.
My point remains that any ED application or possible commitment may be withdrawn prior to actually receiving an acceptance. Just offering general advice not limited to OP’s situation.
If your parents and your counselor didn’t sign the agreement on common app, I don’t think you can submit your application though?
