So i'm trying to pick a good financial safety as a Washington Resident. I've got great stats and realize the UW is mors prestigious and generally considered a better school than WSU, but the problem is I don't really like big cities and and don't want to be just a number in a giant institution. So with that in mind would the WSU honors program be a decent choice as compared to UW honrs? I mean would I be significantly detracting from the quality and rigor of my education? Or any other good suggestions?

I live in Pullman and have taken classes at WSU, so I’d like to think I know a bit about how it is over here. Frankly speaking, UW is a much better school unless you are interested in agriculture or vetmed. It’s not that WSU is bad, it’s just that UW is better. I don’t think you’d be significantly detracting from your education if you went to WSU, but it would probably be harder to open doors (of course, your grades at WSU might be better since UW is harder, so this could balance things). As for honors, WSU has some good incentives here, and would definitely help to offset the difference between UW and WSU. I don’t know how it would stack up against UW honors, though.

Anyways, I think that you should just go where you want to go. It doesn’t do you any good if you go to UW and hate your time there. In the end, whatever career you end up pursuing, the name of the university will matter less compared to your individual accomplishments.
