bumpity bump bump

You need one true safety. That is a school that will let you in based on your stats, and that you can pay for without financial aid other than federally determined financial aid. Chances are, this will be a public university in your home state, or a community college. Find this school, and develop some affection for it because it is the back-up in case all of your other options fail. And, believe me, sometimes all of the other options do fail.

As for matches, where do you want to study? In a city? In a suburban location? In a small town?
Do you want a lot of activities? How do you feel about football games? How do you feel about frats/sororities? Do you think you might enjoy being in student government in college? Do you want to keep playing tennis?

There are something like 3,000 colleges and universities in the USA. Dozens in Upstate New York alone. Cornell itself has at least four separate colleges where you can study math/science topics (Ag & Life Sciences, Human Ecology, Arts & Sciences, Engineering) and one of those could be a match while another would be a reach.

You need to think a bit more about what you want out of your college experience, and give us those kinds of details before we can give you much more help here.

i would like to study in a city with lots to do, impartial to frats etc, def want to continue tennis. i have researched the individual colleges within some universities, i just need names of colleges that you guys think might match my preferences/stats and ill check them out thats all. thanks happymom and the rest who respond.

Villanova, Fordham, Boston U, Rhodes, UMiami, Georgia Tech, George Wash, American, UMBC, Upitt, Temple, Drexel, CaseWestern, Santa Clara, SMU, University of Denver,Manhattan College. There are a number of engineering schools like Stevens Institute, Renasslear, that can offer excellent courses in your areas of interest without the super tough admissions stats.

Also for matches St. Josephs, Northeastern, U. of San Francisco, Univ. of Washington - Seattle (maybe a reach for out-of-state students), Boise State (building up a nanotech program), South Carolina (getting very popular, though), Boston U., Delaware.
As happymom said, your safeties will be one or more State universities in your home state. Usually at least one wil have excellent math and science programs.
