helppppppppp

So im trying to come up with a list of reasonable colleges to apply to and im not so sure what I should be considering. I really want a school with a good chem program. I dont have great SAT scores (710m/620v/620w = 1950), a NO im not re-taking... i hate the sat! (like who doesnt loL!) 670sat2 chem, 710 ushist, 700math2 and i will have taken a total of 8 ap classes by the time that i graduate. I have an solid-high A average and am involved in lots of ECs w/ leadership too. also doing research for an intel project to be submitted. Where can i consider applying as a reach (columbia?? , whereelse) match (george washington, boston university +++?), safety (UMD collegepark, suny binghamton+++?), any other input for good schools for me and are my assumptions of schools for each category reasonable?? Btw im from ny w/ no minority status to help me out... thanks for any help!! :D

If you don't want to retake the SAT, consider taking the ACT

umm, thanks but no thanks... im not a fan of standardized testing. can anyone give me an opinion of good schools for the stats that ive got! :(

Villanova is a real nice school. If you want to have a decent shot at some Ivys, you may want to retake the SAT, but then again, do whatever your most confortable with.

Columbia will be a huge reach with that SAT score. Maybe look at Brandeis, NYU for matches, Boston U is definitely a good match for you. UMD College Park is probably a safe match, you might also want to look at Penn State for Safety.

thanks so much cool2bars! so basically can i make the assumption that any ivy is a reach, anything private and lower than an ivy is a match, and public universities would be safeties?

Any ivy is a major reach. Many other privates are, too. For matches, given no hook, look at schools where you are at the 75%. There are many.

I'm a chemistry major at Brandeis. It looks like you're probably a match (though I don't know what the average test scores are nowadays). If you have any questions about the school or the program, drop me a message.

Okay so i've compiled a list of about 20 schools (i know... but i need to start somewhere!) I was wondering if you guys could give me some input on what each school would be and my chances of getting in and if you esp recc. a school, thanks for your input thus far!!
