Heop interview...

Questions that were asked:

If you attend fordham heop, you cannot live on campus. You can live on campus sophmore year but you will be paying alot of pocket money, 12000 dollars or so, since they take away your commuters grant when you dorm at fordham.

You can transfer if your heart desires to another Heop program. Its just like senior year all over again though so if your willing then go for it.

Um with Fordham heop i pay around 3500 for a year, maybe a little less, they help you with the loan process.

Why is it hard to make friends?

Because you dont dorm, its a different experience when you attend college and others dorm but you dont. You dont have easy access to the parties, its harder to find your niche and for the most part kids here find themselves attending classes and going home. Its just not what i thought college was going to be like. Believe me i am a social butterfly and have tried to make friends, join clubs, go out and all that… and although I have plenty of associates, I still have yet to find REAL bonds at fordham. Everyone is just for the most part closed off and trust me, everyone i have met and discussed this with agrees. If your convinced that your different and that your experience will be different then attend, but i did warn you.

Thanks Fordham2013…D did sign the enrollment form once we were told it was non binding and if D changed her mind she could always unenroll…D is very excited about attending Fordham but she has one other school’s HEOP program to hear back from before she makes a decision and we should be hearing in the next couple of weeks…I’m sorry your social experience has not been what you hoped for as a commuter student at Fordham…have you thought about transferring out to a school with an HEOP program AND the social scene you are looking for? It sounds like Syracuse University might be a good fit for you…they have the heop program and its a much more traditional college experience, think fraternies, keg parties, basketball games, not to mention the campus is ridiculously large and over 80% of the student body dorms…D applied but is rethinking it because of those factors, D does NOT want that type of traditional college social scene experience which is why Fordham LC is a perfect match for her…Good luck to you!!

Heop’s cutoff is so low at 22,350 for a family of 3. My single mom makes 35,000 a year working 50+ hours a week and I am not eligible ■■■=(.

i still havent heard a thing since my interview … anxious beyond belief!!!
