Hey guys,
can anyone tell me a bit about their experience with the HEOP program? Thank you.

The Higher Education Opportunities Program, HEOP for short is a program for students who wish to attend NYU (or any other school that offers the program, NY) but is either economically disadvantaged (poorer than the average joe)/ academically disadvantaged. I’m not sure what they mean by academically disadvantaged but since it has been proven ( I guess) that students with more money behind them have better resources and in turn, are academically advantaged, students with less money have lower chance of being …hmm…“inclined academically”. They’re proportional.

Who is Eligible (and all other things) can be seen here:[Higher Education Opportunity Program Guideline](http://www.heop.org/guideline)

It basically tells us the income range for what is considered “economically disadvantaged” and some other conditions as to how one might be able to qualify.

So those who apply and are accepted under the program are reviewed under different admissible standards and have a better chance at admission vs the regular applicant pool.
