<p>And how is it that Columbia accepts fewer people than HYPS if its seen as easier to get into?</p>
<p>Because the quality of those who apply to HYPS is better than that of those who apply to C.</p>
<p>^That's true, but not to a huge extent. Most of the Ivies, excluding Cornell, share a very large portion of their applicant pool.</p>
