Uhm hi, I was wondering if Financial Aid covers orientation cost? Thanks.

It should if you have a low EFC. If you feel like your EFC is low enough to have orientation covered but it’s not, then you should call in.

On the financial award that they list on Growl, does that also included the Chancellor’s Scholarship?

Also, when is the earliest opportunity to change majors? I’ve just been accepted (freshman) and I wanted to know if it’s at all possible to change my change before the fall term starts.

you can change it at anytime. Go to MyUCR account and go under my profile and it allows you to change your major. It takes up to ten days to process. I changed my major feb 1 and got accepted with in the next two days.

I maxed Fed loans Where else would be good to take out loans for college? Would the Wells Fargo Collgiate/Education Connection loan be a good choice? I need to borrow at least 7 k…

which side of the lothian dorms are newer?
the east or west??

Is rushing during the Fall with fraternities better than Spring?

I’m not incoming Freshman, and I’ll be a sophomore this coming fall, but I wondering because I rushed with Pike this spring and didn’t get a bid.

@indian2010: It’s possible. I live in the Honors Hall at Pentland Hills and there are non-Honors and Honors students living together, due to the low amount of people who wanted Honors Hall. As long as you request one another, I don’t think it really matters if you’re Honors or Non-Honors. But within Honors Hall, it might be hard, since it’s usually for only Honors students. But then again, like I said before, on my floor, there are Honors and non-Honors kids living with each other. Only thing is, I’m not sure if you can request each other as roommates if you both want to live in the Honors Hall, since one isn’t in the Honors Program. They put people who aren’t in Honors and wanted Pentland Hills into the empty spaces that the Honors Hall still has available.

Thank you so Forevermore! This really helps. My friend has guaranteed admission in the honors program and I just applied to it so hope all goes well. Thank you for your help!

can you please tell me about what you know about ucr rescinding acceptances…

will they take someone if they have a D in their senior second semester?

@jennifermei: East Lothian is the newer side, since it was built later. West Lothian isn’t all that bad, as some people have said about it. I went to visit my friend’s place at West Lothian, and it seemed pretty okay, in my opinion.

@indian2010: No problem. If you need any other questions to be answered feel free to ask here. :]

@sireeena: I think you would have to call in to the school about your problem. I know one of my high school classmates had their acceptance rescinded because of their D, however, he did not explain why he had a D nor did he bother to call, even though he wanted to come to UCR. Don’t let what I just said scare you, but I think if you call in, or email, about your D, and why you got a D, they might take your reasoning and no rescind you. I’m not sure, but I would suggest to call them. Sorry I couldn’t help much on your problem ):

Are u still answering questions? xD

if he/she isn’t, i might be able to help.

do you know anything about oban apartments? are they better than falkirk?

they are both good but they are not furnished.

tlg0814 - oban is a little cheaper, has a little more square footage, and is a little closer to campus than falkirk when it comes to the 2 bedroom 2 baths and 2 bedroom deluxes.

for the 1 bedroom 1 bath, falkirk is just slightly bigger than oban. same prices, but a few yards further from campus.

falkirk also has a 2 bedroom 1 bath option, which oban does not have.

however, it’s too late to apply anyways. (well you can apply, but you have pretty much no chance of getting into either oban or falkirk. theyre pretty popular.)

x8equalsDtilde- really? That sucks. They just opened the housing app/ contract for new transfer students on the 1st of march and i filled one out that same week. so fingers crossed.

Many of the transfer students who fill out housing contracts with the university usually end up being referred to the UVT.

okay, in that case what do you all know about UVT?
is it furnished? safe? quiet? clean? any specifics a transfer student should know about that place?
