Here to help you guys

Hello to all future USMA Cadets....

I was appointed to the class of 2009. Well, I showed up on R-Day, and a very short time into CBT I had a heat stroke. While I was in the hospital they ran some routine bloodwork and found out I have a blood disorder that would probably have gotten me medically seperated. So, in the interest of pursuing college in the fall (a medical seperation may have taken weeks), I decided to resign for medical reasons.

Having said all this, I still believe in West Point and what they're trying to do. That's why I'm offering my first hand knowledge of the application process and beast to anyone who wants information.

You can reach me through here...or contact me through AIM (I've been talking to a few class of 2010ers).

I hope maybe my experience with various things (waivers, admissions, beast) can help some of you and I can turn this unfortunate event into a good thing by helping you all out.

Sincerely,
cadet0509

Cadet0509: I'm so sorry to hear about your medical issue. I hope you're OK and that there won't be any serious medical repurcussions for you. Good luck in college next year!! There are many other ways to serve, and I'm sure you'll find more than a few of them.

cadet0509,

You have an incredible attitude!! I know it must have been disappointing to receive your diagnosis. You made a mature decision and the fact that you are offering help based on your experience speaks well of you. I truly wish you all the best with college and life. Like oib, I hope you will not have medical complications from the condition.

Best of everything to you! The class of 2009 will miss you, I'm sure.
