important issues---- I have to apply for the need-based n im an international student.

I know that I could get merit scholarship, but I have no info. I was lookin for LAC only.

about major
1.international relations
2. political science
3. economics

what about cornell university? it says that it is need blind. I am not sure if its right or not

Merry Christmas!

I don’t think that your SATs are high enough for ivies - they would be a super reach for you. Does Cornell limit its int’l acceptances? Does it meet 100% of need of int’ls?

“need” isn’t determined by your parents. They may say that they can only pay $5k, but your school may say that they should pay a lot more, therefore that could be a problem.

Are you living in the US?

Few schools give aid to internationals. You might be able to find some that will give you some merit money, but maybe not enough to cover most of your college costs. What will you do if your scholarship/aid is much less than the cost?

You can’t limit yourself to LACs. Since you need financial help, you need to be open to wherever you can find it. :)

cr+ m is 1380
is there any school that I can get merit scholarships?

I would maybe put Cornell down if finances is quite important. Not sure if they do limit int’l acceptances, but quite sure they do accept A LOT of int’ls. If you could, see if Cornell gives int’l students FA also. If so, then you should consider applying there since their FA is need-based and they try to not put loans on your FA package.

Are you female, and if so are you interested in women’s colleges? Though not technically need-blind for internationals, I think, some of them (Mount Holyoke comes to mind) have TONS of int’l students and offer merit scholarships.

IF you are female, then Mt Holyoke is a good suggestion.

For safeties…

Seton Hall might give you merit.

De Paul in Ill might give you merit.

LSU would give you merit.

not female…
